December 11, 2019 - Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the executive’s user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, has again selected AutoStore as a recipient of an SDCE Green Supply Chain Award for 2019.

AutoStore™ Named as Recipient of the 2019 Green Supply Chain Award from SDCExec

The Green Supply Chain Award recognizes companies making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy and are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and supply chains.

The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals.

“We are extremely proud of all AutoStore can do to help companies succeed, from savings in space to utilizing and retaining staff to reducing energy costs. Some of our customers have seen a 75% reduction in their power expense while others run their AutoStore system on solar energy,” said Karl Johan Lier, CEO and President of AutoStore.

“AutoStore is such an energy-efficient system in all aspects, and we strive to be as sustainable a company as possible,” Lier continued. “We try to think ahead and stay focused both technically and socially. This award shows others agree with our developments and see the potential.”

“Companies are striving to become more energy efficient for a variety of reasons,” explained Paul Roy, AutoStore Managing Director – North America.

“It’s possible to overlook your inventory control system as part of a sustainability plan,” Roy explained. “It’s wonderful to receive the recognition that AutoStore is a significant player in a company’s plan on multiple levels; the system can only enhance a company’s drive to increase energy efficiency.”

This year’s 11th-annual awards recognize small, mid-size and large enterprises that leveraged green practices and solutions to further drive sustainable improvements in their supply chain.

“Every year our Green Supply Chain Award recipients demonstrate what is achievable in supply chain sustainability,” says John R. Yuva, editor for Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “It is clear that while sustainability is not a new concept, there is always more we can accomplish.”

“We extend our congratulations to this year’s award recipients and their commitment to green initiatives,” adds Yuva. “The entries serve as best-in-class examples for other companies to model and create value for their supply chains.”
