DHL integrates AutoStore™ in their Innovation Center

(Troisdorf, Germany, March 7, 2023) – AutoStore™ is a new partner in the "Solution Box" at the DHL Innovation Center in Troisdorf. Together with the world's leading logistics group, AutoStore is demonstrating an integrated storage and order fulfillment solution for retailers. The demo application includes an online store for merchandise from which visitors to the Innovation Center can select, order, and pick products themselves.

The core of the solution is an extremely compact demo of the AutoStore System with 250 Bins, which are served by two R5 Robots, and a workstation. Visitors can watch live how Bins containing items they have selected in the shop system are retrieved automatically and transported to the CarouselPort by the Robots. After picking and subsequent confirmation on the monitor, the Bin is put back into storage. Together with the hardware and the Controller for the system, AutoStore also supplied and implemented its own WMS solution for the first time.

"With this exhibit, AutoStore as a pioneer of Cube Storage and DHL as a visionary leader in the logistics industry are showcasing a smart and holistic solution for retailers, which combines shopping and logistics processes in perfect interaction. We are proud to be part of the Solution Box at the DHL Innovation Center ", says Peter Bimmermann, Managing Director at AutoStore in Germany.

The DHL Innovation Center receives approximately 13,000 visitors per year as part of tours, customer workshops and events. The AutoStore solution will be part of the exhibition for about two years.

About AutoStore

AutoStore™, founded in 1996, is a technology company that develops order-fulfillment solutions to help brands achieve efficiency gains within the storage and retrieval of goods. We invented and continue to pioneer cube storage automation, the densest order-fulfillment solution in existence. Our focus is to marry software and hardware with human abilities to create the future of warehousing. AutoStore is global, with over 1150+ systems in 49 countries in a wide range of industries. All sales are distributed, designed, installed, and serviced by a network of qualified system integrators referred to as "partners". The headquarter is in Nedre Vats, Norway, with offices in Oslo (Norway), the U.S., UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore.

The AutoStore System consists of an aluminum Grid, Robots, Bins, Ports, and a Controller. The stacked Bins are arranged in a Grid. Robots ride on rails along the top of the Grid, retrieving Bins as needed. The Bins are then delivered to a Port, where warehouse operators are stationed to pick up or fill in products, tag, pack, and send them out. A Controller acts as the brain behind the whole operation.
